Let's start with a workshop on making noisemakers and packing gift baskets.,

We will continue reading the Book of Esther in verse accompanied by live music, and conclude with refreshments and a communal toast.

Miracles and salvation, joy and jubilation, the hidden is revealed and the lowly is exalted—and everything turns out for the best!

We are collecting 50 NIS from anyone who wants to participate in sending food parcels from the House of Prayer to needy families in Tel Aviv.

H.N. Bialik, at the laying of the cornerstone for “Ahel Shem” in Tel Aviv, in Iyar 1948.

It seems that these celebratory words of Bialik are more relevant today than ever within the broader context of the reconstruction of Israeli society after the war and the struggle for the Jewish-democratic character of Israel in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence.

The Sabbath is the cornerstone of Jewish tradition and a crossroads that touches on the challenge that a significant portion of the liberal public in Israel is currently engaged in – providing a practical, deep, broad, and relevant meaning to our Israeli Judaism. It raises the question of the construction of Judaism in the public sphere, but, no less importantly, stands as a personal, practical challenge that invites a positive response in the private sphere.

In our learning journey this year, we will delve into Shabbat while incorporating several sources of wisdom.

We will come to the discussion with our weekly Shabbat.
The wealth of perspectives on Shabbat from classical and modern sources.
The experiential side of Shabbat as it is revealed in ritual, poetry, poetry, and food.
The book "Shabbat of Freedom" (Yediot Aharonot, 2025) by Dov Elbaum and Ariel Picard, which was recently published. In this book, Elbaum and Picard propose five different ways to observe Shabbat, each of which in itself deserves to be included under the definition of "observing Shabbat" in Jewish culture. All of this, based on a thorough halachic investigation into the sources of Judaism. Opening up the "Shabbat Package" to a number of ways that integrate with each other can allow families and individuals in Israel to rediscover their own personal and familial path to Shabbat.

Participants in the Beit Midrash will receive the book, which will serve as a common platform for our study.

Study framework

The Beit Midrash meets every Monday from 8:15-9:30 PM as a regular study group. (Total of 20 meetings including a tour on Friday morning)

Most meetings are held on Zoom for the convenience of learners.

Throughout the year, approximately four face-to-face meetings are held, as well as a tour of the participants' study center.

Yahaduta - A forum of Israeli Judaism organizations in Tel Aviv, together with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, the Tel Aviv Port and Atarim Company, and led by an Beit Tefilah israeli invite the general public to celebrate the holiday with a variety of events and activities in the "Israeli Sukkah" - a giant 600 square meter Sukkah that will be erected on the main deck and will be open to the general public. With the aim of creating an open and collaborative space for Jewish-Israeli creativity.

The Sukkah will open on Sunday, October 6th, with a musical celebration of Sukkot, followed by a holiday meal open to all.

We invite you to a musical Selichot evening in preparation for the holidays, and this time we will host the bard Shir Yifrach. An evening full of singing, prayer and togetherness, seeking to find solace in the Selichot poems, and in ancient and new melodies. Ancient piyyutim alongside contemporary Tishrei songs. With the ensemble of an Israeli prayer house led by Athaliah Lavie (singing), Esteban Gottfried (singing and conducting), Oral Oshrat (piano), Ziv Greenberg (bass), Amir Israel (oud/violin/singing) and Dor Biran (drums). Guest bard Shir Yifrach.

Tradition and innovation in one word

In a delicate and special musical journey, we will combine Jewish tradition and contemporary creation, between the old and the new, between the Jewish and the Israeli, and invite for ourselves the opportunity to open our hearts, listen, process feelings and emotions, reflect, release and forgive – for ourselves and others. The evening will combine traditional piyyutim from the house of Abba / such as: Adon Hasleichot, Achot Katana, El Nura Alila, and contemporary Selichot songs: Selichot, At Talchi Bisade, as well as legends and sages' midrash that correspond with the spirit of the evening.

The musical ensemble of an Israeli prayer house combines traditions from the East and the West, and this time we are proud to host the young bard A song will bloom, which together with Athaliah Lavie, The house singer of an Israeli prayer house and the poet and oud player Amir Israel, Together we manage to create an Israeli Selichot evening, as authentic and up-to-date as possible.

In one of the most magical places in Israel, on Fridays at sunset, we will gather for a musical and communal Shabbat reception at the seam between weekdays and Shabbat. A Kabbalat Shabbat for the whole family, with Israeli prayer, singing, a breeze, music and a communal atmosphere.
