"Gala" Shabbat Reception to Mark 20 Years of an Israeli House of Prayer

Thank you for celebrating with us!

We seek to celebrate spiritual entrepreneurship, taking responsibility to actively shape our spiritual and cultural lives, the longing for community even in the secular realm, the personal search and preparation for a meaningful prayer language within the sea of Jewish-Israeli tradition.

 We wish to celebrate the opportunity we have been given to add our own touch to the traditions we have inherited, so that they will be more relevant to us and our sons and daughters.

 We seek to celebrate the desire of tens of thousands of women who have joined us over these two decades to make our Jewish identity relevant and meaningful.

 Today we celebrate the human connections that have been forged over the years between friends, teachers and students, musicians and parents, bar mitzvah boys and girls, and community members.

 We seek to celebrate the daily sacred work of dozens of volunteers from Iri Panim, in Shabbat receptions, in social activities, in teams, in joys and in moments of pain.

 We wish to celebrate the freedom and inspiration of the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo, which has allowed us to create a cultural and spiritual work that has lasted for many years, and to the Tel Aviv audience who has found a home in our homes.

 We seek to celebrate the music that serves as a second language for us to express our personal, communal, and national feelings.

 And above all, we would like to celebrate and thank you for the deep trust we have received over so many years from generous friends and partners in Israel and around the world, who have allowed the small dream we planted 20 years ago to become a reality that has a life of its own and is capable of touching and expressing a clear voice of hope in the cultural fabric of Israel.

 And we seek to do all of this today, in the way that is natural to us, in the native language of an Israeli house of prayer – in the musical language. In Israeli prayer.

The festive Shabbat reception combines familiar and well-known poetry and Shabbat songs with contemporary Israeli songs of hope, vision, joy and a sense of togetherness. Many sang in the best traditions of an Israeli house of prayer in new orchestral arrangements. Among the songs: "Lecha Dodi", "Hachnesini Tseteh Knappach", "Shabbat Hamalka", "Yedid Nefesh", "Erev Mol Gilead", "Mizmor L'David", "Ya'le Ya'le", "Amen" and more...

We will gather together on the day of mourning of the Jewish people in order to connect hearts to the difficult times, distant and near. During the evening, we will screen the moving film # Nova From director Dan Far Zahorai, a film composed entirely of material filmed and recorded in real time at a nature party near Kibbutz Reim, which was cut short when Hamas terrorists committed a mass massacre of the partygoers, and kidnapped some of them to Gaza. Minute by minute, the horror unfolds before us.
Entry is restricted to those over 18 years of age. Warning: The film is not easy to watch. Every two weeks we gather to support the families.

Since the beginning of the war, we found ourselves bringing singing circles and musical Shabbat kabbalahs to evacuees from the south and the north, 

In hospitals, and also in the square that symbolizes more than anything the great pain that still afflicts us.

Every two weeks we gather at 5:00 PM in the square, and welcome Shabbat together with the families and all the people of Israel who come to embrace and identify.

This year, thanks to the donation of a foundation that prefers to remain anonymous and the cooperation with the Modi'in-Maccabim-Re'ut municipality, we are opening the first season of Israeli and musical Shabbat kabbalahs in the beautiful Anaba Park, on the shores of the lake.

Welcoming Shabbat at the Western Wall, the whole family together!

An Israeli house of prayer is coming to Jerusalem! And not just to Jerusalem, to the Old City, and not just to the Old City, to the Western Wall! And not just to the Western Wall but to the egalitarian Western Wall! (The Western Wall!) We are happy to announce a new initiative of musical and joyful Shabbat receptions, especially at the Western Wall, in collaboration with the traditional movement that operates the place. The Shabbat reception will be, as is customary at the place - without instruments - a cappella, with a fine vocal ensemble that includes cantor Athaliah Lavie, singer Moran Maysles and singer Erez Tal, and led by Rabbi Esteban Gottfried. For the first time: Musical Shabbat reception at Caesarea Port

In June and July, every two weeks we will gather in one of the magical places on the coast of Israel, in the port of Caesarea - near the ancient ruins of the ancient temple (from the first millennium CE) that were discovered there, and through singing, piyyut, breeze, sunset, egalitarian prayer, music, and a good atmosphere, we will cleanse the old-new custom of entering the Sabbath, together. 

An Israeli house of prayer is happy and excited about the new collaboration with the Caesarea Port and invites the general public to take part.

In our huge Sukkah, which spans 800 square meters and is located in the most beautiful place in Tel Aviv – the Tel Aviv Port, there is a place – and musical, cultural, recreational, and ceremonial activities for everyone: children and adults, secular and religious, Tel Avivians and guests, Israelis and tourists, women and men, individuals and families, immigrants and veterans. The Sukkah is a space for meeting, sharing, and inclusive and vibrant Jewish-Israeli creation, it is open to the general public, admission is free – and there is a place for everyone!
